Bernard begins play at the Men’s WATC

SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo sophomore Hugo Bernard will play at the Men's World Amateur Team Championships at the Mayakoba El Cameleon Golf Club and Iberostar Playa Paraiso Golf Club in Riviera Maya, Mexico, Sept. 21-24.

Bernard will be a member of the Canadian team playing in the team championships in Mexico. Bernard is joined by No. 26 World Amateur Jared du Toit and Garrett Rank.

The trio has a Wednesday tee time of 7:15 a.m., with Bernard first off the tee. They are looking to capture the first Eisenhower Trophy for Canada since 1986.

Format for the Tournament ...
Each team has two or three players, who each play 18 holes of stroke play over four days. In each round, the total of the two lowest scores from each team constitutes the team score for the round. The four-day (72-hole) total is the team's score for the championship.
