SAINT LEO, Fla. – The No.1 Saint Leo men's golf team is sitting in sixth after 36-holes of the Saint Leo Invitational on Monday, Sept. 19 at Lake Jovita Golf 7 Country Club. The Lions were led by Casey Bannon who finished the day tied for 12th.
Bannon fired off a one under 143 after two rounds with a 72 on the opening round of the 2016-17 season following that with a 71 (-1) in the afternoon round.
Ryan Gendron, who shot a one under first round (71), shot a one over 73 to finish the day at even par, 144; Gendron sits in a tie for 17th.
Riley Goss who had the best first round of the team on Monday fired off a two under 70 before falling in the leaderboards to tie for 33rd with a second round 78 (+6).
Colby Tyler finished the day off with a plus-10 after shooting rounds of 78 and 76 to finish with a 154 in 55th.
Marcus Crowe shot a 159 (+15) on the first day of the invitational to finish in a tie for 68th after carding rounds of 75 and 84.
The clubhouse leaders are John VanDerLaan and John Coultas who both finished with a two-round total of 136 (-8). VanDerLaan shot rounds of 69 and 67 where Coultas stormed back in the second round after a first round 71 for a second round 65.
The Moccasins lead the team leaderboard with a 17-stroke advantage heading into the final round Tuesday. Florida Southern finished Monday at 558 (-18) with two rounds of 279 (-9).
