SAINT LEO, Fla. – Hugo Bernard, a rising sophomore at Saint Leo University, shot an 81 (+9) to open the RBC Canadian Open on Thursday, July 21st in Oakville, Ontario, Canada at the Glen Abbey Golf Course.
Bernard, who is sitting in a tie for 152nd, shot a 39 (+4) on the front nine with four bogeys and recorded a 42 (+5) on the back nine with one birdie, four bogeys and one double-bogey. On the 11th hole, Bernard blasted his longest drive of the day of 364-yards, which ranks him tied for 28th longest in the field and averaged 300.4 yards a drive.
Bernard will tee off in the second round of the RBC Canadian Open at 2:15 p.m. off the 10th tee with his group of Sam Saunders and Blair Hamilton.
