KEY BISCAYNE, Fla. – No.2-ranked Saint Leo men's golf sits alone in second place after 36-holes at the Sunshine State Conference Men's Golf Championship at Crandon Golf at Key Biscayne after round two on Monday, April 18th.
Saint Leo is sitting in second with a second round 304 (+16) for a two round total of 602 (+26). The Lions are led by Ryan Gendron, who is in third heading into the final round of 18-holes. Gendron fired off a second round 76 (+4) to go with his first round 71 (-1) for a 147 (+3) 36-hole total.
Joey Savoie fell two spots in the second round after carding a 76 (+4) to go along with his first round 75 (+3) for a two round total of 151 (+7). Hugo Bernard joins Savoie in a tie for ninth after a 75 (+3) in Monday's round to add to his Sunday score of 76 (+4), for his 151 total.
Liam Ainsworth is sitting in a tie for 17th in the player's leaderboard with a 153 (+9). Ainsworth shot a 77 (+5) in the second round, after carding a 76 (+4) in the opening round.
Griffin Clark slid four spots to 24th in the leaderboard, to hold all five Lions within the top-25 of the field, with a 158 (+14) two-round total. Clark shot a second round 80 (+8) after a first round 78 (+6).
Lynn University sits atop the leaderboard with an 11-stroke lead heading into the final round. The Fighting Knights shot a second round 293 (+5) to go with their first round 298 (+10) for a 36-hole score of 591 (+15).
Individually, Martin Cancino (Lynn) and John Coultas (Fla. Southern) are tied for first with a 144 (E) after two rounds. Cancino shot rounds of 70-74, while Coultas had rounds of 69-75.
Saint Leo returns to the course for the final 18-holes on Tuesday, April 19th at Crandon Golf at Key Biscayne. The Lions' first individual will tee off at 10 am as part of the final group.
