Men’s golf hangs onto fourth in NCAA Regional rankings

SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo men's golf held onto its no. 4 ranking in the South Region in the final NCAA regional rankings released Friday.

The Lions are among four Sunshine State Conference schools that dominate the top four slots in the regional poll.

Nova Southeastern leads the South Region ranking in the top spot, followed by Lynn and Barry in the no. 2 and no. 3 positions.

Trailing the Lions are no. 5 West Georgia, with SSC members Florida Southern and Florida Tech in the 6-7 spots. Gulf South Conference members West Florida and North Alabama came in eighth and ninth respectively.

Saint Leo finished sixth at the 2015 Sunshine State Conference Men's Golf Tournament earlier this week, paced by sophomore Joey Savoie who was tied for seventh overall at two-under for the tournament.

Both the Gulf South and the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, who are also in the South Region, have not yet completed their conference tournaments.
