Lions place 12th at Buccaneer Invitational

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. -- The Saint Leo men's golf team carded a 304 (+20) to wrap up a 12th place performance at the Buccaneer Invitational. Trevor Joseph led the charge, dipping to a 73 in the final round, his best score of the tournament. 

Liam Ainsworth posted scores of 73-72-70 (+11) to lead the Lions. The sophomore tied for 35th in the Buccaneer Invitational hosted by Barry University. Joey Savoie turned in a five-over 76 in the final round and tied for 40th on the par-71, 6,733-yard Normandy Shores course. 

Ryan Gendron, Erick Alonso and Joseph rounded out the Lions with invitational scores of 226 (+13), 233 (+20) and 239 (+26) respectively. 

The Lions have wrapped up regular season tournaments and will return to action at the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) Championships April 12-14. The SSC Championships will be hosted by Rollins College at the Red Tail Golf Club in Sorrento, Fla.
