Lions in 15th Place after First Round of NCAA South/Southeast Regional

Gendron sits in a tie for 11th place with a 71 after day one 

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo University men's golf team began play in the NCAA Division II South/Southeast Regional golf tournament on Monday, at the Savannah Quarters Golf and Country Club in Savannah, Ga., and find themselves in 15th place after the first round of play with a one day total of 301. The Lions are one stroke behind Florida Southern, George College and North Alabama who each shot a 300 and are tied for 12th

Ryan Gendron, who will enter the second round on Tuesday in a tie for 11th place, led the way for Saint Leo in the first round shooting a one under par 71, which included an eagle on the par five 13th hole. That eagle helped Genrdon shoot a three under par 33 on the back nine. 

Joey Savoie and Liam Ainsworth are tied for 44th after each shooting a 76 during the first round. 

Chaz Heinz is two shots behind his two teammates in a tie 66th place after shooting a 78; and Trevor Joseph rounds out the Lions' competitors shooting an 88 and is 105th place.
