Lions Finish Second at Panther Invitational
Joey Savoie and Chaz Heinz finish tied for fourth
SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo University men's golf team finished second at the Panther Invitational, hosted by Florida Tech, at The Majors Golf Club in Palm Bay, Fla. The Lions turned in a three-round total of 896 (310-282-304), just two strokes behind first place Florida Tech who shot an 894 (308-289-297).
Joey Savoie (77-71-76) and Chaz Heinz (80-68-76) each tied for fourth shooting a three-round total of 224.
Florida Tech's "B" team took third place shooting a three-round total of 908 (310-294-304). Brevard Community College finished eight strokes behind the Panthers, in fourth, shooting a 916 (321-297-298).
Tampa rounded out the top five team's shooting a 939 (316-303-320) for the two-day event.
Saint Leo will be back in action on March 31-April 1 at the Buccaneer Invitational, hosted by Barry University, at the Normandy Shores Golf Course in Miami Shores, Fla.
