HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. –Nick Brothers wrapped up his final round of the NCAA South Region Tournament on Wednesday afternoon from the Mission Inn Golf and Tennis Resort with a tournament score of 73-72-78—223 and in a tie for 28th place overall.
Brothers struggled on the front nine of his final round today, falling to +6 for the round before even making the turn. As we have seen in the past, Brothers turned it up a notch on the back nine, birdying three of the first six holes. With birdies coming on No. 9, No. 10, No. 14, and No. 15, Brothers played himself back into the mix.
Unfortunately two bogies on No. 16 and No. 18 caused him to fall back to +6 for the day, and just out of contention for one of the final spots to the national tournament.
Winning the team tournament with ease was Nova Southeastern who shot a team score of 287-284-284—855. Barry finished in second place, with Columbus State and Florida Southern in a tie for third.
Finishing six-under to win the individual tournament was Ben Taylor of Nova Southeastern. Coming in a stroke behind him was Ricardo Celia, also of Nova Southeastern, and coming in third place from Barry was Adam Svensson.
