Men's Golf Finishes in Ninth Place at 'Bash at the Beach'

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. –Saint Leo men's golf teed off at the final round of the 'Bash at the Beach' this morning and after 18 holes the Lions remained in ninth place after shooting a team score of 289 in the final round. The Lions total score for the 54-hole tournament was 306-301-289—896.

Nick Brothers finished with the best 54-hole score with a 71-74-73—217. Brothers finished the tournament in 23rd place among individuals. Continuing his steady play was Chaz Heinz who fired a 76 in the final round to put is 54-hole total at 226. Trevor Joseph stayed around his first and second round scores with a 77 in the final 18 holes. The freshman ended the tournament two strokes behind Heinz with a 228. Codi Daudelin shaved six strokes off of his second round total and 14 off of his first round score in that final round with a 71. For the tournament he finished with 84-77-71—232. Austin Grey rebounded very well from his performance in the first two days by firing a 70 in the final round—the team low. Grey finishes the tournament with a score of 84-80-70—234.

The Lions remained in ninth place with their 896 total—21 strokes behind seventh place George Mason and Appalachian State. Coming in behind Saint Leo was Wright State with a 910.

Continuing their strong play atop the leaderboard was Radford. The Highlanders finished with two players in the individual top six and cruised their way to the tournament championship, edging out Jacksonville University by five strokes.
