Men's Golf Finishes Tied for Fourth at Jay Jennison Memorial
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Saint Leo University men's golf team shot a 310 in the final round of the Jay Jennison Memorial today in Daytona, Fla., and finished the tournament tied for fourth place with a tournament total of 294-307-310—911.
Armstrong finished the tournament atop the leaderboard after another solid round of play with a team total of 285-300-293—883. Four strokes behind them was Barry with a total of 294-291-302—887. Following the Bucs and six strokes ahead of the Lions was Coker who totaled a 905 for the tournament.
Trevor Joseph, who was tied for first place entering the final round, shot an 81 today and fell to a tie for eighth place. Chaz Heinz had a superb final round, as he fired a 72 and surged up to finish tied for 20th. Tied for 23rd place was Nick Brothers, who carded a 79 in the final round of play. Rounding out the Lions were Codi Daudelin and Justin Foster. Both finished the tournament with a total score of 236.
Marcus Segerstrom of Barry finishes atop the individual leaderboard with a one-under 215. Trailing him was Rollins' Tyler Sluman and Armstrong's Shad Tuten who finished +2 and +3, respectively.
The team will head to Columbus, Ga. on Oct 1 to participate in the AFLAC Cougar Invitational, hosted by Columbus State University. The two-day tournament will be held at The Country Club of Columbus.
