FT. PIERCE, Fla.  – The Saint Leo men’s golf team won its third tournament of the 2009-10 season, by defeating 10 other teams at the Treasure Coast Classic, hosted by St. John’s University, Wednesday afternoon from the par 71, 6,555 Yard Indian Hills Golf Course.

Despite poor playing conditions and experiencing wind gusts up to 35 MPH, Cole Cisbani shot a one-under-par 70. He was the only Lion to shoot under-par in the final round. Still, a trio of Lions closed the contest shooting a very impressive two-over-par 73.

The group was led by freshman Nick Brothers, as he posted his third-straight round of shooting under a 75. JP Albuquerque was also on that list and Tom Lynn rounded-out the bunch with his best round of the tournament.

In the impressive win, Head Coach Ray Cisbani stated, “I am very proud of my guys. They knew conditions were going to be tough and were not rattled when put in a tough spot.” He continued, “They listened, read their shots, and executed better than I could have asked for.”

Due to more technical problems, full tournament results have yet to be released.

After taking the upcoming week off, the squad will return to the links on Friday, March 12 at the Spring Fling Intercollegiate, hosted by St. Johns University.
