FT. PIERCE, Fla. – The Saint Leo men’s golf team closed first round action of the Treasure Coast Classic in first place with a team score of 279. The Lions hold a three shot advantage over Western Illinois at the par-71, 6,555 Yard Indian Hills Golf Course.

Due to technical difficulties, full statistics have not been released.

However, the Lions were led on day one by Nick Brothers as his three-under-par 68 tied for the fourth-best individual score on the afternoon.

Western Illinois’ Kyle Peterman is the individual leader with a four-under-par 67. Two others also posted scores of 67 after the first 18 holes.

Saint Leo is 11 shots better than SSC rival Tampa and currently sits ahead of seven D I schools.

Weather permitting, the Lions will tee-off for second round action tomorrow morning.
