Demontric Doddles joins his mentor Vince Alexander on the Saint Leo coaching staff for the 2015-16 season.

Doddles previously worked with Alexander on the staff at USC-Aiken during the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons, assisting with player development during practice. He was on the bench with Alexander during the Pacers’ run to the ‘final four’ in the 2014 NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Championship, the team’s second trip to the Elite Eight in as many seasons.

While coaching with the Pacers, Doddles worked as a basketball personal trainer in the Aiken, S.C., area, teaching an array of sport-specific skills and techniques.

Doddles previously served as an assistant coach and recruiter with the New York Red Riders of the ABA from 2009 through 2012, recruiting student-athletes for the program and developing offensive and defensive game strategies.

Throughout his professional career, Doddles has held positions as a case manager and group home supervisor in the human and family services field. He also served as the head boys’ basketball coach at Cowanesque Valley High School in Westfield, Pa., from 2003 to 2006.

A former standout at Mansfield (Pa.) University, Doddles played three seasons for the Mountaineers between 1996 and 2001. He was the team’s most accurate shooter during his junior season, going 36-of-83 (.434) from beyond the arc and 105-of-222 (.473) overall from the field.  Doddles finished his collegiate career with 677 points, an average of 11.3 per game, before playing for the ABA’s Elmira Bulldogs.

Doddles is a 2001 graduate of Mansfield with a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice.
