Dewberry named to NABC Second Team All-South District

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Saint Leo senior Marcus Dewberry was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches' (NABC) Division II All-South District, announced Monday, March 20.

Dewberry adds his second team honors to his All-Sunshine State Conference First Team selection as well as his Division II Conference Commissioners Association/Presto Sports Second Team All-South Region honor. Dewberry earned first team all-district honors a year ago to wrap up his career as a two-time All-South Region All-District player.  

Barry's Elvar Fridriksson and Adrian Gonzalez represented the Sunshine State Conference on the First Team All-South District where Dewberry was joined by Drushaun McLaurn (Eckerd) on the second team as the four SSC players on the All-District teams.

Dewberry led the Lions to a 12-16, 6-12 SSC record on the year as he concluded his four-year career with 1,524 points, 436 rebounds, 406 assists and 133 steals. He left his mark in the program record books ranking in the top 10 in five major categories all-time with his best of fourth in assists (406) and three-point field goals made (193). Dewberry ranks seventh all-time in scoring (1,524), eighth in steals (133) and ninth in free throws made (277).
