SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo men’s basketball team received one more award as they closed out their 2008-09 season as junior Jordan Prais was among the 12 student-athletes named to the Daktronics Men’s Basketball All-South Region Team.

Prais, named to the SSC Second Team twice during his career and the 2007 Conference Freshman of the Year, was again an All-Region selection after leading the Lions with averages of 16.6 points and 8.1 rebounds per game.  The 6’7” forward scored in double figures in all but two regular season games, and finished the year with a total of seven double-doubles, while shooting 54 percent (187-of-344) from the field. He was also honored as the Conference’s Player of the Week twice during the 2008-09 season.

The Lakeland, Fla. native ranked in the Top-5 in numerous categories in the Sunshine State Conference, finishing the season fifth overall in scoring.  He also eclipsed the 1,000 points and 500 rebounds club during the season as he led a Lions’ squad that finished one game short of .500 (15-16) and 7-9 in the SSC.

The team is sponsored by Daktronics, Inc., an acknowledged world leader in scoring, timing and programmable display systems for virtually every sport at every level of competition. The team is voted on by the members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
