SAINT LEO, Fla. – As a reward for his outstanding performances, Saint Leo men’s basketball player Jordan Prais was named the Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week for the period ending February 8th.

The 6’7” forward averaged 14.5 points and 15 rebounds per game to lead the Lions to a 1-1 weekly mark.

In a 75-67 loss at Rollins, Prais narrowly missed a double-double with nine points, 14 rebounds, and a block. In an 84-65 win over Florida Tech, he exploded for 20 points, 16 rebounds, two blocks, two steals, and an assist.

In two games, he shot 55 percent (12-for-22) from the field and 56 percent (5-for-9) at the free throw line.

His 29 points this week put him over 400 points this season and jumps him into 14th all-time at Saint Leo with 1,196 points, just 23 points behind 13th-place Rich Wallace (1965-69).

Prais and the Lions head into arguably the toughest week of their SSC schedule as they head to Lakeland on Wednesday for an SSC tilt with Florida Southern, currently the conference’s top-team, and then a Valentine’s Day showdown in Boca Raton to face Lynn.  The game against Florida Southern will tip off at 7:30 p.m. in the Jenkins Field House on the campus of Florida Southern College.
