Saint Leo, Fla. (March 14, 2008) - Saint Leo men’s basketball player Jordan Prais (So., Lakeland, Fla.) was named Daktronics Second Team All-South Region on Thursday. The sophomore was also a Second Team All-Sunshine State Conference selection after an outstanding sophomore season.
Prais led the Lions in 2007-08 with 16.2 points and 8.6 rebounds per game as a sophomore. The 6-7 forward scored in double figures in all but four games, and finished the year with a total of 10 double-doubles, while shooting 53.4% (171-of-320) from the field. Prais was seventh in the Sunshine State Conference in scoring, and second in rebounding. He was also ninth in the league in shooting percentage.
Prais scored a career-high 31 points against Flagler on December 8 and pulled down a career-high 14 rebounds against Barry on February 23. In addition, he was named Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week for the week ending December 10, 2007.
The SSC was well represented on the Daktronics All-South Region Team, as Rollins’ Jonny Reibel and Tampa’s Jeremy Black were named South Region Co-Players of the Year. Florida Tech’s Carl McNally joined Reibel and Black on the First Team, while four of the five Second Team members were from SSC institutions. Joining Prais was Tech’s Justin Sedlak, Eckerd’s Damone Morris, Nova Southeastern’s Tim Coenraad and Florida Southern’s Rob Eldridge.
