Saint Leo, Fla. (February 14, 2007) – The Saint Leo men’s basketball team (12-12, 5-8 SSC) fell 81-63 to visiting No. 21 Rollins College (20-4, 11-2 SSC) on Wednesday night in a Sunshine State Conference encounter.
Despite a 16-point, eight-rebound performance by freshman Jordan Prais (Lakeland, Fla.), the Lions were unable to overcome four Rollins players scoring in double figures.
The Tars got a game-high 17 points from Isaac Codrey and 14 points each from Craig Reichel, Deon Troupe and Jonny Reibel.
Rollins led by just five at half-time but took control of the contest courtesy of a 22-7 run in the opening 8:03 of the second half. The Tars stretched the lead to as many as 27 points, as they were red hot from the field in the second frame, shooting 69.6% (16-of-23) and burying six three-pointers.
Saint Leo will play its final home game, as Barry University will visit the Bowman Center for a Sunshine State Conference game. Tip off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
