Saint Leo, Fla. (February 3, 2007) – Five players scored in double figures to lead the Saint Leo men’s basketball team (11-10, 4-6 SSC) to a 92-56 win over non-conference Florida College (11-9) on Saturday.

Freshmen Jordan Prais (Lakeland, Fla.) and Saladeem Dewberry (Calypso, N.C.) each scored 14 points, while Dewberry added a career-high 11 rebounds for his first career double-double.  Jonathan Banks (Jr., Tampa, Fla.) and Brandon Powell (Fr., Tampa, Fla.) each added 13 points, while Thomas Kaiser (Fr., Tampa, Fla.) rounded out the double-figure scoring with 10 points.

Florida College’s Pete Alexandrou scored a game-high 19 points in defeat for the Falcons.

The lead changed hands four times in the opening half and neither team could open a margin of greater than seven points in the first 20 minutes.

The Lions opened the second half on a 10-2 run and never looked back, as they raced out to a lead of as many as 37 points in the second stanza.  The eventual final margin was 36, as Saint Leo posted its largest victory of the season.

The Lions will hit the hardwood again on Wednesday, February 7, as they return to SSC play against Nova Southeastern University.  Opening tip for the second half of the conference doubleheader is slated for 7:30 p.m.
