Saint Leo, Fla. (January 13, 2007) - The Saint Leo University men's basketball team (8-6, 2-2 SSC) got back to .500 in the Sunshine State Conference with a crucial 73-70 victory over visiting Florida Tech (5-12, 1-4 SSC) in an SSC game on Saturday evening.

Four Saint Leo players scored in double figures to help the Lions knock off the Panthers. SLU was led by freshman Jordan Prais (Lakeland, Fla.) who scored in double figures for the sixth straight game with 11 points and graduate Alleo Frazier (Tampa, Fla). Florida Tech was led by Jod Kelley and E.J. Murray who had a game-high 13 points each.

Saint Leo was able to build a 13-point lead in the first half before seeing Florida Tech crawl back to make it a seven-point deficit at the half.

In the second half, Saint Leo was able to ward off several Florida Tech runs to never relinquish the lead. However, the Panthers were able to get within one at the 11:48 mark before seeing the Lions build their lead back up to seven with 1:17 left.

The visitors used a fice-point run to get to within two, but could not get any closer as they eventually fell by three.

Saint Leo travels to Winter Park for a matchup with Rollins College on Wednesday in another SSC game at 7:30 p.m.
