Dunnigan Earns NCBWA All-Region First Team Selection

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (Baseball) - The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) announced its Division II preseason poll, All-Region and All-America teams on Thursday. Saint Leo sophomore pitcher Michael Dunnigan was one of five Sunshine State Conference players selected to the All-Region First team.

Dunnigan, a right-handed pitcher from Tarpon Springs, Fla., ended his rookie season with the Green and Gold boasting a 2.72 ERA and a perfect 7-0 record. In addition, the 6-3 righty tossed one complete game, earning one save, 25 strikeouts, and a selection to the All-Sunshine State Conference Second Team.

On the NCWBA Preseason All-South Region Team, the SSC had a total of 11 players named to the squad, including Dunnigan. Making the first team was second baseman Adrian English (Barry), shortstop Jacob Tillotson (Tampa), outfielder Michael Danner (Tampa) and utility player Brandon Sedell (Nova Southeastern)

On the second team was starting pitcher Jed Vandermaald (Lynn), relief pitcher Tyler Petsch (Barry), third baseman Tyler Kellman (Barry), outfielder Keith Curcio (Florida Southern), outfielder Connor Obrochta (Tampa) and utility player Austin Allen (Florida Tech).

Tampa's Danner was named NCBWA Division II Preseason All-America Second Team. Barry's English was named to the third team.
