After a three-game sweep of Eckerd over the weekend, Saint Leo swept this week's Sunshine State Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week awards, with Dillon Vitale and Rick Teasley taking home the honors.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK -- Saint Leo senior 3B Dillon Vitale (Punta Gorda, Fla.) batted .692 (9-for-13) with nine RBI and 10 runs to lead the Lions to a 4-0 weekly mark, including an SSC sweep at Eckerd. Vitale tallied two home runs and three doubles en route to a 1.385 slugging percentage. He registered an impressive .818 on-base percentage. In a 13-10 non-conference win at Warner, Vitale went 5-for-6 with a homer, a double, and five RBI. In an 11-3 win in the series opener at Eckerd, he was 2-for-3 with two doubles and a pair of runs batted in. His other homer came in a 19-0 win in game two.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK -- Saint Leo senior Rick Teasley (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) earned the win in a 19-0 SSC victory at Eckerd. Teasley tossed seven scoreless innings, scattering six hits with just one walk. He struck out a season-high 12 batters.

The Lions baseball team gets back in action this weekend when they travel to Winter Park to take on the Rollins College Tars. First pitch for Friday night's series opener is set for 6:00 p.m.
