Brnovich Named Collegiate Baseball Magazine Preseason All-America

SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo baseball second baseman Ryan Brnovich has been selected a 2012 Collegiate Baseball News South Region Preseason All-American. In addition, Dustin Brown has been named a Preseason 'Player to Watch', and Zach Miller a Preseason 'Newcomer to Watch'.

The Preseason All-America selection of Brnovich was a first for the Lions under the watch of head coach Russ McNickle.

Brnovich, the team's leading hitter from a year ago, was one of eight Sunshine State Conference members named to the list. The sophomore carried a .395 batting average across 49 games in 2011, while also placing third in doubles with 12, and leading the club in stolen bases at 23.

Brnovich was joined by Brown, his senior teammate. Earning a nod on the 'Players to Watch' list, Brown belted a team-best four home runs a year ago and finished with a team-best 37 RBI, and a .331 batting average.

Newcomer Zach Miller also gained notoriety on the South Region list as his presence will add to the Lions' already powerful lineup.
