Men's Golf releases 2017-18 schedule

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo University men's golf team and Head Coach Chris Greenwood released its 2017-18 schedule, which features two home tournaments and seven other tournaments throughout the season. 
 
The Lions host two tournaments for the 2017-18 season with one in Bowling Green, Fla. at Streamsong Resort for their fall tournament and on in the spring at Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club. Saint Leo opens their fall portion of the season at Streamsong when they host the first Griffin Invitational. On Sept. 18-19.
 
The Griffin Invitational is named after the late Griffin Clark, who passed away July 4, 2016, weeks after he helped the Lions clinch their first ever National Championship in Denver, Colorado.
 
Following the opening tournament, Saint Leo will travel to Columbus, Ga. to take part in a two day Cougar Invitational Sept. 25-26. The Lions close out their fall schedule with two tournaments in the state of Florida at PGA National for the Golfrank Invitational, Oct. 9-10, and the Copperhead Championship hosted by West Florida at Innisbrook Resort, Oct. 16-17.
 
Saint Leo will look to open their 2018 spring schedule when they travel to the Matlock Invitational Feb. 12-13 at Lone Palm Country Club, hosted by Florida Southern, the defending national champions. After the Matlock, Saint Leo hosts their own Invitational at Lake Jovita, Feb. 26-27, before heading north to Georgia for the Southeastern Intercollegiate at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club.
 
The Lions close out the 2017-18 season at the Bobcat Invitational March 19-20 and the Argonaut Invitational April 2-3. The Lions will then take part in the Sunshine State Conference Championship which will be hosted by Nova Southeastern on April 22-24 at Grande Oakes Golf Club in Davie, Fla.
