SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo women's volleyball team was picked No. 4 in the 2017 Sunshine State Conference preseason poll, as voted on by the coaches, released Thursday by the conference.
Last year, Saint Leo ended Tampa's 11-year conference championship run as the Lions won the title outright witha 12-4 mark in the SSC. Saint Leo ended the 2016 season with a 20-12 record and a trip to the NCAA South Regional, their fourth-straight appearance.
Saint Leo opens their 2017 campaign at the Nova Southeastern Shark Invitational on Sept. 1 against Lenoir-Rhyne at 11:30 a.m. and then facing off with Tusculum at 4:30 p.m.
The Lions open their home portion of the schedule on Sept. 8 when they host the Saint Leo Volleyball Tournament starting at 9 a.m.
