Madeline Gonzalez Nazario was named Assistant Volleyball Coach in August of 2013. Hailing from Bayamon, Puerto Rico, Gonzalez-Nazario attended Hillsborough Community College from 2005-07. In 2006, Gonzalez-Nazario was named an All-American and was a one-time player of the week.
After beginning her collegiate career with the HCC Lady Hawks, Gonzalez-Nazario transferred to the University of West Florida to play two seasons with the UWF Argonauts. In just two seasons, she was a three-time GSC Player of the Week, named to the All-GSC First Team, a two-time All-GSC member, and a GSC East Division Offensive Player of the Week. In addition, she was named to the 2008 GSC All-Tournament Team and the 2008 NCAA Division II South Region All-Tournament Team. In 2008, Gonzalez-Nazario also received UWF’s Most Valuable Player Award, was selected to the 2008 AVCA All-Region First Team, and received a 2008 AVCA All-America Honorable Mention.
Prior to coming to coaching Saint Leo, Gonzalez-Nazario served as a coach for numerous programs, including the Tampa United Sandspurs, the Lizards Volleyball Club, the Corozal Volleyball Academy, Christian Military Academy, and the Puerto Rican professional team, Pinkin de Corozal.
