SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo women’s lacrosse player Stephanie Marran has been named Saint Leo Athlete of the Week, for the period ending April 15.
In one of the Lions most decisive wins of the season, a 17-1 defeat of Newberry College, Marran tied a Saint Leo career-high with seven points as she scored five goals on top of two assists.
A Patchogue, N.Y. native, the sophomore attackman notched two goals and two assists in the first half, before capping the contest with two additional tallies.
Her point total was also recognized in the record-book as her assist to Alix Murray with 26:52 to play in the opening stanza was acknowledged as her 100th career point. Coupled with her freshman year statistics at Post, Marran currently owns 93 lifetime goals and 13 assists. Forty-one of the 93 goals have come with the Green and Gold.
Marran also notched one ground ball, caused one turnover, and controlled three draws.
Marran and the rest of the Lions will close out their inaugural season with a home match with the Florida Southern College Moccasins on Wednesday, April 18. Opening draw is slated for 7 p.m.
