43 Saint Leo student-athletes recognized by D2ADA

SAINT LEO, Fla. – A total of 43 Saint Leo University student-athletes were named recipients of Division 2 Athletics Directors Association (D2ADA) Academic Achievement Awards, when the association’s list of honorees was unveiled Friday.

The D2ADA Academic Achievement Awards honors Division II student-athletes who have completed four semesters of post-secondary academic work and have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher on a 4.00 scale.

“This past year was one of unprecedented success for Saint Leo athletically, and I’m pleased that we were able to match those achievements in the classroom as well,” said Francis X. Reidy, Saint Leo’s director of athletics. “Excellence is one of the Core Values of our institution, and it is important that all our student-athletes have the opportunity to achieve at the highest level in all facets of their Saint Leo experience.”

A record number 6,949 Division II student-athletes representing 155 institutions were recognized with 2013-14 Academic Achievement Awards, including 475 Sunshine State Conference student-athletes.
