Volleyball Notes

  • The Saint Leo volleyball team is coming off a 3-0 week where they took down #24 Florida Southern, 3-0, Embry-Riddle, 3-1, and Rollins, 3-1.
  • The Lions swept #24 FSC and held the Mocs to just .088 hitting. Hope Lemon put down 13 kills and Britt Sederholm added 11, while Maddy Powell tallied 29 assists, 13 digs, and eight kills.
  • Against Embry-Riddle, the Lions saw everyone earn career numbers. Freshman Victoria Omoregie put down a career-high 19 kills on a .516 hitting percentage. Her clip stands as the highest on the season by any player who has tallied 12 or more kills in a match. Senior Katie Adamson set a new career-high as well, putting down 12 kills on a .355-clip. Jenya Kruglova scooped up a career-high 26 balls, while Maddy Powell dished out a career-best 62 assists, adding nine digs and six kills.
  • Against Rollins, Saint Leo held the Tars to just .071 hitting. Townsend added 19 digs, while Omoregie and Lemon put down 10 kills.
  • Maddy Powell’s 62 assists against Embry-Riddle is currently tied for third in the nation for a four-set match. Hope Lemon currently ranks 35th in the nation in aces per set at .47, while Jamee Townsend is 37th in digs per set as she averages 5.27.
  • The Lions lead the conference in digs per set, averaging 16.64.
  • Lemon is averaging 3.56 kills per set, while Avery Bradshaw adds 2.49, and Sederholm follows with 2.32, and Omoregie adds 2.05.
  • On Thursday versus FIT, the Lions will host Senior Night and honor Hannah Pietz, Katie Adamson, Hope Lemon and Jamee Townsend.

  • Jaquayla Baker leads the way out of the middle with 2.63 kills per set, adding 0.83 blocks. She is hitting .332 on the season. Libero Kaitlyn Sibson adds 4.73 digs per set, while Gabrielle Reis dished out 9.82 assists per set.
  • Florida Tech enters with a 6-15 record, and a 0-9 SSC record. They are hitting .149 as a team, while their opponents are hitting .212.
  • Olivia Hersey leads the team in points with 3.28, averaging 2.59 kills per set. Kelly Germain follows with 2.80 points per set on 2.61 kills. Kiersten Rosa directs the offense with 596 assists on the season.
