20 men’s teams, 20 women’s teams in for South Region XC

SAINT LEO, Fla. – A total of 22 NCAA Division II institutions from around the southeast will be represented when the NCAA Division II South Region Cross Country Championships take place on Saturday, Nov. 5, at Saint Leo University.

The men's 10K race will start at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, followed by the women's 6K race at 9:45 a.m.  An awards ceremony where the South Region team champions and top individual finishers in each race will be recognized, along with the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-South Region honorees, will be held after the conclusion of the women's race.

All activities will be held at The Abbey Course at Saint Leo University on State Road 52 in Saint Leo, Fla.

A total of 20 men's programs have declared for the meet, while 20 women's programs have indicated they will participate.

The top three teams in each race will advance to the NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Cross Country National Championships, along with the top three individuals who are not part of a qualifying team, and all individuals who finish among the top five and are not part of a qualifying team. The national championships will also be hosted by Saint Leo University at The Abbey Course on Saturday, Nov. 19.

Admission to the event will be $6 for adults, $5 for seniors (62-and-over), and $4 for students with valid I.D. Children (2-and-under) and active duty military with valid I.D. will be admitted free of charge.

Parking will be available at several lots on the Saint Leo University campus, directly across SR 52 from The Abbey Course.
