SAINT LEO, Fla. - For his efforts in Saturday evening's game against cross-town rival University of Tampa, Saint Leo men's lacrosse players freshman goalie Dave Moore has been named Saint Leo Athlete of the Week. Moore’s efforts helped the Lions pick up the first ever victory in University Turf Stadium for both the men's and women's lacrosse teams.
Moore piled up 21 saves in Saint Leo's 8-7 overtime victory,
earning the Lions’ first victory of the season, both in and
out of conference. He played the entire game Saturday night,
recording over 62 minutes between the pipes for the Lions while
allowing only seven goals facing 47 shots. The Lake Mary, Fla.
native registered a save percentage of .750 on the night, while
adding six ground balls.
